Hello and welcome to my brand new web site!!
Alan was the Bass player/Synth, vocalist and front man for Hawkwind for 22 years from 1984-2006. Many Hawkwind fans have said he gave them new life and energy and kept the band going strong thru the 80`s and 90`s and into the 21st century with his on stage presence and BIG BASS SOUND!! Something the band desperately missed after Lemmy was sacked! Bob Calvert (rock`s greastest ever poet!), mentioned this to Alan at Leeds Acid Daze Fest in 1988 when they 1st met, saying (with a grin on his face!), "So your the guy I`ve heard all about, the man who plays like Lemmy!" Lemmy had also by now named Alan "Bass Assassin #2"! (as credited by Lemmy on Motorhead`s "Ogasmatron" album!) Lemmy being #1 of course! By 1988 he was contributing synth`s and atmospheric piece`s of music for which he now has a unique reputation. In 1996 he released his 1st solo album "Captured Rotation" which scored the highest mark in Dutch magazine "Aardschok"! Scoring higher than Saxon, Cheap Trick and Motorhead amongst others in the same issue!
Since then he`s released 10 solo albums and just keeps going! The latest being "Eclectic Devils" featuring 15 young ladies on the cover which poor Kevin Sommers had to photograph, (he gets the worst job`s eh!). Kevin has done nearly all Alan`s artwork for his albums and more! Alan has composed and published approx 200 songs for solo projects, his old band Bedouin, and new band Gunslinger, and approx 50 songs for Hawkwind. There are at least 30-40 more songs on his studio PC awaiting completion too. He appeared on approx 40-50 Hawkwind albums, video`s, EP`s, singles and DVDs. Now, at the age of 46 years young,(born 11/09/63) he`s getting faster and louder by all accounts! Al is enjoying mixing and producing all the new projects and albums and is developing a good ear for it! He credits Paul Cobbold for this as Paul has taught Alan a lot over the years! "Thanx P.C!!" A flying thanx also go to Ed Bennett at 1912webworks for all his time building A.D`s new site, "Thanx a mil Ed!!".
"Eclectic Devils" is more rocky`er than usual, but still has the right amount of experimentation to know its Alan`s own brand rock music! It features the fabulous Simon House, (ex hawkwind/David Bowie violinist/keyboard player!) on violin, organ and mellotron. Isobel Morris provides her usual haunting vocals and wrote the lyric`s for the song "Encounter". She also wrote the lyric`s and sang on 2 songs on Alan`s previous album "Human on the Outside". On the song "Too High", Louis Davey (Alan`s nephew or his son maybe, heehee!!) does lead guitar and Xoo bass and keysman James Hodkinson plays organ and twists out FX on it too!! Old style special FX come curtesy of Josh Dreamspirit who provides audio generators on "Angel Down", Waste of Time" and "Alien Veto". And last but by no means least, founder Gunslinger member, song writer and lyricist/word smith extraordinaire Nigel Potter performs alien-esque vocal FX without the use of any FX on opening song "Angel Down".
It is the business of the future to be dangerous !

There are things to but too
